If I where to ay something like fossil fusel are bad, or no one should have a gun can you completely agree with me? Well in Carl Fischs What if? he talks about how schools have a strict “No Electronic Devices” and what is wrong with that statement. It projects a stereo type that all technology is bad in class when actually is could be an extremely helpful thing to have in class. This affects me because I very much depend on technology for organization and if teachers won’t let me use it to record homework which in turn forces me to try to find a different way to record my homework. This affects my class because it limits so much of what we can do such as blogging, music on silent projects, ect. This affects the world because students growing up only have so much use of technology wile there learning about how to work and manage your assignments, and this rule gives people bad habits of organization that aren’t always the most efficient. Do you think the advantages out weigh the disadvantages of technology?

What kind of world would we have if no one could focus on anything boring in more then 30 seconds? In George Wills, Lost in Electronica he tells about a boy’s addiction to entertainment to the point where they can’t stand being bored at all and need the constant entertainment. The problem is that there are always ways to distract ourselves, and that we never actually get bored, which then makes us unable to cope with being bored and have to go find something to do. This affects me because if I am one of these people I will not be able to do anything in the real world because I won’t be able to learn it due to my attention deficit. This affects my class because if my classmates are like me we won’t be able to focus on any projects and this will make schools almost pointless because they won’t be able to get the students to do anything. This affects the world because there will always be ways to distract ourselves and if we stay the same way from childhood we won’t be able to handle the adult world. What would you do if your memory was as long as a goldfish?

In Tony Wagner’s “Rigor Redefined” tony explained what school systems are like now. He said that only 1 in 20 classes are actual successful learning communities, thought by philosophers. The rest of the classes are just the teacher giving you problems then the anser, or simply drilling the facts into you head. This affects me because in most if not all classes I have I am not getting optimal education. This affects my class because all my fellow students aren’t getting the nollage they should be getting ether and the teacher isn’t doing there jobs as our educators. This affects the myriad of people in the world because most of us are going to reach our full potential as professional learners. Its basically like finding out all our information from simple textbooks, is that how you want your education to occur

In The article “Ex-Student stopped with gun outside Westminster school” By Yesenia Robles there was a child who went back to his school with a gun but thankfully was stopped by the staff. He had previous criminal charges and a history of valance. This affects me because if this had been my school and he had gotten in there could be drastic changes in my school life, as well as my home life. One of my friends or even me could be a casualty of this hateful child. This affects my class because it would lock down the school and I wouldn’t have nearly as many freedoms as I currently possess. This affects the world because it could be another columbine disaster and many children traumatized as well as parents left in awe over there lost children. What would you do if you where in a school with students shot by a former student?
